45 cats and dogs removed from ‘deplorable conditions’ in Hunterdon

Forty-five cats and dogs were found in “deplorable conditions” at an animal rescue owner’s township home on Aug. 18, said Annie Trinkle, founder and executive director of Animal Alliance.

The other animals are now in the care of several approved animal organizations, including Animal Alliance which recently merged with Hunterdon Human Animal Shelter, forming one of the larger private animal welfare nonprofits in the state.

 

N.J. animal shelters merge to form major animal welfare organization

Animal Alliance has merged with Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, creating one of the larger private welfare nonprofits in New Jersey.

The expanded organization will operate under the Animal Alliance name and serve the region from two locations in Lambertville and Milford.

 

Once Skin & Bones, Rescue Dog Now Ready for Adoption

"Butterscotch," a hound, shepherd and pit bull mix, weighed only 23 pounds when he was rescued from the streets of Jersey City, New Jersey in January.

Realizing he would need special care, Kim Saunders, Director of Operations at Liberty Humane Society, the organization that rescued the pup, reached out to Lambertville-based Animal Alliance for help.

Kitten recovering after being soaked in petrol and set on fire

A five-week-old kitten soaked in petrol before being set on fire in New Jersey is thought to be recovering slowly.

Justin was found in Philadelphia at the end of April and is currently being cared for by Animal Alliance, said animal protection organisation Pennsylvania SPCA.
