The Rescue Staff:

Tammi Graciano
   Foster Guardian

Tammi with Sera, her boxer/pit mix adopted from Animal Allies four years ago. She is the dopiest, sweetest dog on the planet!

Tammi has been involved in animal rescue for about 7 years. She’s volunteered with many shelters & rescue groups before finding a permanent home with Animal Alliance. It’s amazing and so rewarding to be involved with a group of people who share the same passion for animals. Tammi proudly says that she’s found homes for many stray animals and unwanted pets before becoming involved w/ AA and now happily fosters animals that have been rescued from various high-kill shelters until the perfect permanent homes can be found.

Tammy and the Kids
Tammi & "the kids."

"Me and my son, Jaden, with the dogs playing in the yard. You can see that Sera is the only one not camera-shy! Behind me is my other dog Phoenix and also, my current foster dog, Raneen. Raneen is a very special dog. She is special to me and all my friends and family. Everyone that meets her, loves her. She is possibly the best dog you’ll ever meet. Unfortunately, she was born with some medical problems. But lucky for her, she fell into the arms of Animal Alliance, who has been kind enough to take care of the expenses that she needs to live a happy, normal life (just one other reason why I’m so proud to be involved in such a wonderful organization). All of my dogs are great with kids, as you can see and all get along great! Actually, my son pretends to be a dog most of the time. He even barks at the neighbors (not sure that I’m proud of that though).

Phoenix
Phoenix!

This is Phoenix. He was rescued from an animal rescue group in Staten Island. He’s my very bad boy! Always up to no good but we love him and he sure loves us back. Actually I can thank Dr. Martins for saving his life last year when he removed a nasty malignant tumor from his back. He now walks w/ a little limp and moves a little slower but he’s still with us and now living cancer-free!

Storm
Storm
Storm is actually an old cat that I rescued myself from owners that did not want her anymore. She became a part of Animal Alliance, who then took care of some medical and dental work that was long overdue. I fostered her for awhile and then realized that she was happy with us & we were happy with her, so she became a permanent resident. She now sleeps on me most nights in between the two big dogs.

Little Cat
Little Cat
This is "Little Cat." One late night my mother called me to tell me that there was cat trying to get into her house, meowing from front door to back door. Not sure why she chose to go to my mother’s house as she is not even a cat lover. I remember it was really cold outside and so I kept telling my mom to let the cat onto her porch because, of course, I felt so bad for her. She was no doubt freezing and starving and lost her way somehow. So she did and I hopped in my car to go pick her up. I tried to find her family that she lost with no luck. She also became a permanent resident.

Bobby
Storm
Bobby is pretty much a feral cat but he’s really come out of his shell over the years. He was a stray. His sister had been hit by a car and so a family that witnessed it took him and his mother in. Unfortunately, his mother ended up having cancer and he was surrendered to a shelter that I was volunteering with. Nobody could get near him except my daughter, who was only about 5 at the time. For some reason he really took my daughter and so he became her cat! "
